Thanksgiving Inspiration | Pincandy

Almost eight years ago my family moved from Colorado to Nevada.  When we moved, we were leaving the comforts of home and family and braving the wilds of Las Vegas on our own.  A great adventure, but leaving family was hard.  Not having babysitters close by… a pain, but we could figure something out. The thing I missed the most were fun family holiday gatherings. For so many years I was under the impression that the magic of Thanksgiving and Christmas was truly MAGIC!  I was grossly mistaken!!! The MAGIC of the holidays is spelled… MOM!

Now that my Mom is hundreds of miles away, it's all up to me to create the magic for my family.  I have been gathering ideas for this year's Thanksgiving Feast and I thought I would share some of the goodies with you.  Whether you like to keep things classic and traditional or love to experiment with fun new ideas there is sure to be some great inspiration for you.

I love, love, LOVE Thanksgiving. It was a great holiday growing up, we had some really fun traditions. My husband and I moved across the country from our families soon after our marriage, and we have never again been home for Thanksgiving. For the first few years we were away, we were lucky enough to have wonderful friends who invited us to their feast every year. We became very close to them over the years, and we consider them another branch of our extended family. Then, we moved again, to a much larger house with a perfect Thanksgiving kitchen. Now I’m the hostess, and we invite other “orphans” to our celebration. This year we’ll have at least four other families joining us. I absolutely love gathering everyone at my home for the dinner, and wowing them with all of the food. It’s been a wonderful experience to create our own traditions.
