Do you believe in luck? Is there really some cosmic lottery that falls on each of us randomly, bestowing us with gifts large and small? If there is, I seem to have missed my turn in line a few times. The last time I remember “winning” something was when I was 12 years old. I spent hours listening to the radio waiting to call in and win tickets to see the “new” Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade movie. River Phoenix was in it and I was a BIG fan!! I sat tethered to my phone which was {believe it or not} also tethered to the wall. I know… soooooo long ago! What on earth did we do before the cellular age?
The time finally came and I starting dialing madly. Over and over I called hoping against all odds to be caller 65. After several tries the DJ finally answered and for once in my life… LUCK was on my side. The funny thing was, I couldn’t convince my parents that it was imperative that they take me to see the movie. My lucky tickets were left, unused. I have yet to “win” any other contest from that point and I am now a “little” older than 12… just a little!
On the other hand, I have a friend that no matter what contest she enters, she always wins. She has had the opportunity to attend concerts, movies and special events galore all from winning fun radio contests or giveaways. She my friends, was first in line when they were handing out the golden tickets.

Am I jealous? NO! {Well, maybe a little} I am lucky in other ways. I have lucked out with an amazing family, a husband whom I adore and he adores me right back, happy healthy children, a warm comfortable home, food on my table and good health. What more can a girl ask for?
So am I lucky? You bet I am!! I’m the luckiest girl in the world!!
