Vinyl Toothbrush Holders
Are you looking for some vinyl inspiration? I have a simple and very functional project to share today. I have three girls at home and for some reason keeping their bathroom clean and organized has become quite an issue. Inevitably one of them is upset because they can’t find the toothpaste or the little sister hasn’t taken care of the toothpaste very well and it’s all “gross!”
I’ve decided that in order to save a little bit of my sanity I would make each of them their own toothbrush holders, {with their name on it} with their very own tube of toothpaste. PROBLEM SOLVED!!
Here is what I did…
I found three cute toothbrush holders at my favorite Target, grabbed some Silhouette Premium White Vinyl and got to work. The font that I used is called Billabong and I used a fabulous arrow design from Sarah Hurley in the Silhouette Online Store for a great graphic element…
I cut the premium vinyl on my CAMEO and then prepared it for the transfer by weeding out the vinyl by gently pulling it away from the backing using my favorite hook tool, making sure to keep the lettering on the blue backing…
Next, I placed the transfer tape right on top of the vinyl and then using the scrapper tool I made sure the transfer tape was secured to the vinyl and ready for transfer.
At this point I carefully pull the blue vinyl backing away from the vinyl, leaving the vinyl on the transfer tape. Then I carefully placed it on my toothbrush holder and gently smoothing it down as to not create creases on the round surface. Just take your time, it will work out just fine. Take the scrapper tool and with firm pressure smooth the transfer tape and vinyl onto the surface. Then take the corner of the transfer tape and pulling diagonally, pull the transfer tape off of the toothbrush holder. Do this slowly just to make sure the vinyl has adhered properly.
It’s as easy as that! Now, don’t you want to grab some vinyl {and a CAMEO, if you don’t already have one} and work on some fun vinyl projects for your home? I have a few more up my sleeve that I need to finish before the kiddos head back to school next week. I would love to see what you guys work on. Leave a comment telling me something you would like to add vinyl to that will make your life easier! I can’t wait to see what you have up YOUR sleeve…
