Holiday Card 101 | Three Great Options for your Holiday Photo Cards

1 · Dec 1, 2011 · 3 Comments

It’s that time of the year to start getting your Holiday cards ready! Yesterday we talked about getting the right family photograph to adorn your seasonal greeting. Today, I have a few ideas of what to do once you have those perfect family photos… a Holiday Card 101, if you will!

From this point the world is your oyster. You can put as much time, effort & money into your cards as you want, or keep them super simple.  Here’s a list of some great options…

Number One |

For those of you out there that are comfortable with basic digital scrapbook design, it’s super simple to design your own card and then either print them on some fabulous paper on your home printer or from any number of places that do any type of color printing.  Here is a card design that I tinkered with for my cards this year…

Thanksgiving Inspiration | Pincandy

3 · Nov 10, 2011 · 14 Comments

Almost eight years ago my family moved from Colorado to Nevada.  When we moved, we were leaving the comforts of home and family and braving the wilds of Las Vegas on our own.  A great adventure, but leaving family was hard.  Not having babysitters close by… a pain, but we could figure something out. The thing I missed the most were fun family holiday gatherings. For so many years I was under the impression that the magic of Thanksgiving and Christmas was truly MAGIC!  I was grossly mistaken!!! The MAGIC of the holidays is spelled… MOM!

Now that my Mom is hundreds of miles away, it's all up to me to create the magic for my family.  I have been gathering ideas for this year's Thanksgiving Feast and I thought I would share some of the goodies with you.  Whether you like to keep things classic and traditional or love to experiment with fun new ideas there is sure to be some great inspiration for you.

{Friday Flair} What Inspires Me

0 · Sep 22, 2011 · 12 Comments

Happy {almost} Friday!!  I am going to take a break from “Who I Am” for a bit and take the opportunity to share some thoughts.

Don’t be fooled… Blogging is HARD. Way harder than I would have ever imagined when my Mom said, “I have a friend named Gabby who has a blog, you’re creative you should start a blog.”  Thanks Mom!  Here’s the break down of that…

My Mom’s friend is Gabby Blair from Design Mom… Wah Wah.  At that time I wasn’t much of a blog reader and I was so naive. Sure, I’ll take a light hearted suggestion from my Mom and become the next Gabby Blair.  Right, that’s not possible!

Gabby is a super star and Gabby is Gabby, just like Ree is Ree {The Pioneer Woman} and Angie is Angie {Bakerella.} Those spots are already taken and it would be doing yourself an injustice to try to mold yourself to become something that you are not. What we CAN do is take their inspiration to then discover who WE are and stake a claim on our little spot in this world.

Back to School Love

1 · Aug 17, 2011 · 4 Comments

I feel like the blog world is playing a funny joke on me right now… My kiddos don't go back to school until the end of the month, but it seems like everyone is already back to the old grind stone.  Congrats or condolences, what ever way to tend to look at this magical time of year.  I'm currently working on a fun back~to~school project today, but I thought I would show off some of the fun teacher gifts that I've found around blogland…
