Easy Lemon Mousse

Hello Whipperberry friends! I'm so happy to be back over here again! I hope your winter is sailing along smoothly…I know it's been a snowy one for many of us. Which leaves us dreaming of sunny warm days, flip flops and time on the deck! I know I sure am…winters here are looooong.

And a funny thing happens to me right about now in the doldrums of winter…I start craving lemons. Every single year. There is something so summery and refreshing and inspiring about lemons don't you think? It makes me want to put lemons in ALL the things! Lemon loaves, lemon tarts, lemonade, even lemons at dinner!

So when the lemon urge struck once again this week, I made an Easy Lemon Mousse.

This is so simple to make – I can't even tell you. And you know what, I bet it would be good with any kind of citrus fruit…oranges or grapefruits or limes. Hmmm I just might have to try a different combo!

5 ingredients. 5 minutes. fresh. delicious.

Ingredients

Make 6 servings.

1 cup whipping cream (heavy cream, not pre-whipped)
4 oz cream cheese, at room temperature (1/2 block)
1 tsp vanilla
zest and juice from one fresh lemon
1/4 cup sugar
fresh berries: blueberries, strawberries or raspberries

Instructions

Using a mixer whip the cream until it is stiff and peaks form. Transfer to a clean bowl and set aside.
Using a mixer cream together the cream cheese, vanilla, sugar, lemon zest and lemon juice until the mixture is smooth.
Then gently fold in the whipping cream, and stir until combined.
Transfer to pretty serving dishes and garnish with fresh berries and lemon zest.
Enjoy!

The party bunch link party // Happy FRIDAY ya'll! I hope everyone is staying safe and warm these days. My sister and I worked on my new studio space this week and I finally feel like I have room to breathe! In our new house I had a room that I had designated as my studio in the basement but I just hadn't taken any time to set it up. Luckily my sister took it upon herself to get the ball rolling. Until she got involved it looked like a room that belonged on a craft hoarding intervention show. Yep… that bad! Now it looks cute and is super functional! I can't wait to start creating now that I have me creative mojo back thanks to my sister!!

Trendy Black & White Valentines Day Printables FREE

I love dressing up for the holidays, but I don't like to go over the top. Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that sometimes can get a little too pink and frilly for me. Some years I'm totally into it, other's I'm not. It just depends on the year.

This year I'm into it, but I was wanting some decor that had some class, maybe a little edge to it… Not so sappy sweet. I decided that creating some printable art work was the ticket and with a few other added elements could create a fun Valentine's Day display…

I'm LOVING the black & white trend these days, especially the black & white stripes. I thought it could be a stylish backdrop to some fun love notes to display. I printed them and put them in some $3.99 frames from Target (they don't seem to have them online, but… I promise they are in the store) and then went to work creating a display to fit the mood.

I wrapped a wire floral wreath in yarn and dressed it up with some fun decorative tacks that I found at Hobby Lobby. PERFECT!! I added a smaller heart print in a decorative Nate Berkus frame from Target and it looked wonderful!

I took my favorite deer silhouette and antler candle sticks and wrapped them with yarn as well.

That added a little spunk and tied the whole display together. Then I printed a fun TRUE LOVE black & white printable banner to dress-up the mantle…

It turned out so cute! I just love the simple, understated polka dots with the bold stripes!

I also have a black & white stripe alphabet that I created for Skip to My Lou earlier this month. It's super cute and it has the entire alphabet so you can create any saying you want!!
