Have you heard about the new kid on the crafting block? Silhouette has introduced their new cutting machine, The Silhouette Portrait… It’s small in size, small in price & BIG on features!

The Portrait has an 8 inch width cutting surface and can cut up to 10 feet in length. It still does everything else that a CAMEO can do, just with a smaller cutting width. Here’s a little video showing you what this little beauty can do…

Here is a holiday decor project that I created this weekend with the Portrait…

Check it out… the Portrait can handle BIG and small projects. This is a full size cream can that I used to made a festive Christmas sign out of red vinyl for my front porch. I created the image in the Silhouette Designer Edition software…

Once I had the wording just right I added a holly berry from Echo Park in the Silhouette image library and the image was perfect! Then I worked on my small project with the small star ornament…

Again, I just cut a simple “Joy” out of the gold vinyl from Silhouette and affixed it to this rustic wood ornament.

BIG and small… this fabulous new cutting machine is perfect for any job!

What I love most about the Portrait is it’s compact size. It fits into my craft hutch drawer and is so easy to pull out and connect to my computer. You wouldn’t be able to do that with a CAMEO, unless you have a really big drawer.

Chest R Desk a Great Holiday Gift

Alright, the big game is almost here… We’re in the final stretch, and gearing up for a big finish! Christmas my friends!! It’s like our shopping Super Bowl. Who’s going to come up with the best gifts this year? The most thoughtful, the most creative… the one that the kiddos will still be interested in by Presidents Day. Kami from No Biggie has turned me onto the coolest gift for the kiddos ages 3-12. It’s the Chest R Desk!!

Here is a photo of Kami’s little guy taking the Chest R Desk for a test drive. This is the coolest little piece of children's furniture I’ve seen in a while. It is a storage unit, chair and a desk all in one. Plus you can decorate it to match your kiddos room. Here is a little video showing how it works…

How fun is that? Kami said that the Chest R Desk is made really well with hinges that close slowly, so you won’t have to worry about your kiddos banging down the top of the chest. It also has little cut out sections so you don’t have to worry about smashed fingers, so smart!

The Chest-R-Desk runs about $59.95 and will ship out towards the end of November, so get your orders in now! I think I need to order at least two. It’s a perfect little homework spot for Miss Em and my little guy Gage would LOVE to have a little spot all his own. He could store his coloring books and puzzles, it’s just perfect for him! I have always wanted a “Something wicked this way comes…” sign and this year I had the perfect set-up.

It was so easy to make. I used a chalkboard that I purchased at Décor Steals, but I’m sure you can find a fun surface that would work great with your décor. Then I used the Silhouette Design Studio to make the sign…

I used a couple of different fonts, The King & Queen Font and Ostrich Sans Black. I started designing away and added a couple of design elements from the fabulous Silhouette Design Library. I placed everything the way I wanted it and then made sure to use the Weld tool to weld everything together that overlapped. It turned out lovely, and it was sooooo easy to make!

Silhouette CAMEO September Promotion

It’s everyone’s favorite time of the month… Silhouette Promo time!!

Not only does this month have a KILLER deal… it has an aaaamazing new product that I have fallen head over heels in love with!! It is Gold an Silver Printable Foil along with a White Printable Sticker Paper!! How COOL is that!

I raided my local Target’s Halloween section and found some fun platters and other little odds and ends and made a fun Halloween door or wall hanging with some of the silver printable foil…

I found the coolest printable images in the Silhouette Online Store for the top and bottom graphics and then designed one of my own using Rhonna Designs Spooky Junque kit for the middle graphic.

I just LOVE it!! The Printable foil is my new favorite toy with my silhouette, you can do so much with it. All you have to do is find or create a print that you just love, print it on your printer with the registration marks which then allows the Silhouette Laser to detect the image and then cut it out on the CAMEO. Is your creative brain working in over drive right now? Think of all the things you could do… Labels for all your jars, beautiful artwork for your mantle, your Christmas gifts are going to be out of the world this year!!

I topped my creation off with a ribbon and tulle bow embellished with a Styled by Tori Spelling Silver Glitz Pendant and some great skeleton hands from Target.
