{Halloween Table} Take Two

0 · Oct 20, 2010 · 4 Comments

In designing a dessert table, all aspects need to be considered. The age group and theme the event is to be centered around, the client’s desires, and of course…location, location, location!  By request, our Halloween Table needed to be featured at another event. This time outside! Wow, sometimes original plans have to be adapted. Don’t be discouraged! Most of the elements can be reused, but with a spin. Instead of having the dark window behind as a backdrop, find a spooky tree as an accent, or change the angle of the lanterns—or both!

Here in Las Vegas–even in the fall–sherbet outside is never a good idea, unless you want your guests to be drinking no-longer layered foam. Switch it up for a colored soda or root beer with dry ice for fun.

Place refrigerated items on the table moments before serving, and only put out minimal amounts to start. They can be refilled as needed.

Who knows, you might even enjoy living up to the challenge. The most important thing to remember is, no matter what, you’ll be the hit of the party with your guests none the wiser.

{Dessert Table} Blue & Green Birthday Table

WB 117

This weekend we celebrated my daughter’s 13th birthday.  Blue and green are her favorite colors, so I used that as the starting point for this table.

I would love to take credit for the cake, but alas I cannot.  It is from an amazing bakery here in Vegas called Nothing Bundt Cakes. If you live here you MUST try it–it’s heavenly. We had white chocolate popcorn and Oreo truffles too, yum!  Not to mention all the candy.

You may recognize the bunting. Click on this link for the tutorial on how to make this little lovely.

The printables were designed by none other than our talented graphics girl, Kristin Call from Call me Kristin.  You can purchase the custom printables from this table at Kristin’s Etsy shop: Peach Tree Paperie.

The cake pops were created by an amazingly talented lady: Deena from My Sugar Mama.  I photographed some of her amazing creations the other day so she offered to help out with my little party. What a Gal!!

I’m in love with buntings so of course I had to add one to the cake as well.

The party was sooo fun.  We had our own drive-in movie!  Emily, and her sweet husband, set up a movie screen on the side of their house along with an amazing surround sound system, and we sat outside under the stars with a gaggle of thirteen year old girls and watched “How to Train your Dragon!”

Fall Table

WB 040

The baby breath of winter….Leaves ablaze in fervent colors, dancing down the streets like school girls all a-giggle….Soup bubbling on the stove top, wafting an aroma of home….Goosebumps that reach for the warmth of hand stitched quilts and knitted sweaters….Harvest blessings of seeds sewn and tended….Home, family and love wrapped in cinnamon and pumpkin pie….

Fall means all these things to me. I hope you enjoy perusing my fun harvest table. I’ve got all the fabulous recipes to help you make one of your own! Enjoy!

P.S. Special thanks to Emily for her help with my printables! Loves!

Project Runway {Pumpkin Style}

I LOVE pumpkins.  I become a giddy school girl when the pretty little things finally start making an appearance in the markets.  I love all of the different shapes, sizes, and colors.  It’s amazing what we have access to these days to play with.  I especially like to play dress-up with the tasty little squash.

I offer you…our pumpkin fashion show!

WB 330

Our first offering, an elegant yet understated, Burbberryesq ribbon accessory.  The petite white pumpkins wear it well, don’t you think?

WB 373

Next, we have a bolder statement.  Rick rack, tulle, ribbon and black jewels round out these show stoppers.

WB 352

A little ribbon, a little tulle and a little bling, and these little white beauties are ready for a night out on the town.

WB 382

For our grand finale, all of our lovely pumpkins ready to accessorize any fall table!
