{Cupcake Love} Mario Cupcakes

WB 152

My son turned two just this past week!  He’s developed a rather unhealthy obsession with Mario lately, and being the awesome mother that I am, I decided to feed the obsession rather than kill it. 🙂  We all make mistakes, but mine was for the sake of cute-ness.  The whole Super Mario world is really very fun to transform into fondant, so I jumped on the opportunity.

WB 136
I decorated nine cupcakes with a blue background to help the flow and consistency, and topped them with various Mario characters and paraphernalia.  Making fondant cupcakes is a great way to take small steps into the world of fondant without having to invest the time of decorating an entire cake.  For more fondant techniques and tips, stay posted for my tutorial on cake decorating.

Happy Baking!
