Rental House Woes Solved with Lysol Power and Free

0 · Apr 22, 2013 ·

There is truly nothing worse than someone else's dirt and grime when moving into a new home. Many of you know that my family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska a few months ago from Las Vegas. Let's just say that our introduction to our new life in Lincoln was less than stellar. When we found out we were moving we had three weeks to pack-up our life and find a new home, withdraw our kiddos from school, find new schools, basically everything that comes with a major move. We didn't have time to run out to Lincoln and find a rental home. Hind sight being 20/20… I would've MADE time, but we didn't in our hurried state. We decided to find a rental home online and hope for the best. In MANY ways we were blessed. We ended up in a great neighborhood, with fantastic neighbors. The schools are great the shopping is very convenient. We've found fabulous doctors and dentist close by. The one MAJOR problem… the rental house WAS GROSS. I literally walked into the house, checked every room with a smile on my face, and then went outside and hid behind the car and cried. I didn't want my children to see my distress, but I just couldn't hold it in.

This was our first rental experience. We've always owned our own homes and the one we just left in Las Vegas we had built. Needless to say, I was NOT prepared to move into someone else's filth. My mind was blown. How did we get into this situation? Right in that moment, with my children already uprooted and feeling the stress from a cross country move, I knew more than anything we needed a clean home. It really doesn't matter what the floor plan is like, whether it has current fixtures and the trendiest flooring. What matters most, is that we have a clean home to start planting our roots.

I have to admit, I hired someone to come in and do a full cleaning. I just couldn't handle it at that time. But, from that time forward I've used one of my favorite cleaners Lysol Power & Free to keep our old, yucky rental house clean until our lease is up.

Lysol Power & Free

Lysol Power & Free is fantastic. It uses the power of Hydrogen Peroxide to fight all those gross germs. The peroxide releases the power of thousands of microbubbles to tackle those tough stains.  I love how it makes my house smell and feel clean without punching me in the face when I walk in the door. Plus, I know that it's safe for my kiddos which is the most important thing.

Don't you just love a clean home? You may not have the most stylish home, but you can ALWAYS have a clean home. What's the most important thing when it comes to your home? Do you have any cleaning nightmares like we did?

Lysol® Power & Free uses the cleaning power of a hydrogen peroxide formula for a powerful clean with no bleach harshness! This helps ensure you don’t have to make sacrifices while cleaning, such as opening all the windows or ushering the kids and pets out of the room. Lysol® Power & Free will help you break free from your ordinary cleaning routine- it’s a powerful clean that’s family friendly!

What do you love about a clean home? One of my readers will win a bottle of Lysol® Power & Free Multi Purpose cleaner to try in their own home! Comment below to be entered to win!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Lysol. The opinions and text are all mine. Official Sweepstakes Rules

How to Paint Stripes for a Pop of Color

0 · Apr 16, 2013 · Leave a Comment

How to paint stripes // Sometimes a project just isn't complete with a little pop of color to really make it stand out. Sometimes all that project needs are a few little stripes to make that project pop. I've added a few stripes to my letter T, in my Vinyl Chalkboard Inspiration Wall…

Last week, I showed off my Vinyl Chalkboard Inspiration Wall that I created for my kitchen wall…

WhipperBerry's Chalkboard Inspiration Wall

The lion share of the project is finished, but I'm still planning on adding a few more design elements to give it a little color pop. I was inspired by a recent trip to Anthropologie and thought it would be fun to add an Anthro vibe to the whole project. I started with my letter T. First, I selected my colors for the project…

Primary Blue, Canyon Orange & Marigold via the Americana paint line from DecoArt. The Americana line is a fabulous all-purpose paint that worked well for my metal letter. I used some washi tape to create some random stripes on the bottom corner of the T…

Using a small sponge brush I painted the stripes…

And finished up with these fun, not too perfect, stripes at the bottom of the letter T… Its a good start to my Anthro color pop additions for the inspiration wall. I have a few more graphic elements that I'm going to add and then the wall will be finished!
