Silhouette Affiliate // The folks over at Silhouette have been madly creating all kinds of fun new ways for us to use their CAMEO & Portrait machines. Earlier this month they released their Stamp Making Kit and it was a hit. This month they have an exciting new product, their Glass Etching Kit. They are just so darn creative and we are LOVING it!!

If you haven't ever etched glass before, you have to give it a try… It's soooooo easy!! All you have to do is create an image with your Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait in vinyl, affix it to your glass, brush on some etching cream and wait for a few minutes. Once your time is up, wash the etching cream off the glass, remove the vinyl and voilá you're finished!! It's just that easy.

    I have all sorts of things in mind. Etched wine glasses for the girlfriends and Cute personalized frames, scetched burlap pillows, etc, etc etc. I have a whole board devoted to this machine. I was able to borrow one for a weekend at one point and have been dying to buy one. However, with two kids in college I have to wait for now. 🙁

    I would love to use the etching creme to obscure the glass on my entertainment center/ TV stand. I want to do a cool Moroccan geometric design on the glass and paint the wood part a nice teal/aqua blue in chalk paint. *sigh* That would be amazing.

    I have about 10 plain glass panes that I would like to etch for a few of the different seasons. Edging them off with a gold colored tape, I think they would look nice above the mantle,

    do the silhouette people ever sleep?  holy cow.  this etching stuff amazes me.  turn me loose with it and everything made of glass would have something on it.  the ernie fishbowl is genius.  i want to have a fish named ernie with a fishbowl i can etch his name onto.  genius.  pure genius.

    First I would use it for our front door.  We have a huge window in it and I want to be able to keep the light but also make it decorative too.  Then I would use it for some homemade Christmas gifts that I want to do this year.

    I'm thinking of using it to etch the widows in my office. I don't want shades or long window treatments  but the light is too bright so I think a pretty design , maybe a paisley or a tile pattern or even    Word quotes what do you think?

    I have canisters in my kitchen that could use some etching. 🙂  Flour, sugar, etc.

    There's also jars in my studio that hold buttons…. they could use etching also! or maybe just my logo on all of the jars i use in the studio… Hmmm.

    I have a photo that is printed on the back of a piece of glass.  There is a word I wanted to put on it, but I'd have to have it reprinted.  This way I could put it on the front instead.  Such a fun product!  My dad used to etch glass (church windows, shower doors, etc.).  This seems a bit easier.  😉
