We had a beautiful night together eating an amazing meal prepared for us by Tom from Food Made by Tom he taught us some fun  ways to plate… so watch out, I’m a food plating pro now! (Not really, but we can pretend)

Aren’t we aaaamazing! Well Tom certainly was.

We had a fabulous evening together and I fell in love with the crew from Jane! Have you checked out their amazing daily deal site? They have 100’s of new deals everyday at unbelievable prices! It’s kind of awesome. I find all kinds of stylish things for my home and family. So far this holiday season, I’ve grabbed monogrammed pajama bottoms for the whole family for Christmas Eve and all kinds of beautiful clothes for my kiddos that they are going to LOVE!!

Well, While I was at the Jane Event, they asked if I would design an Advent Calendar for them and I thought, SURE… I would LOVE to! I love designing all kinds of stuff and to design something for the Jane Blog was truly an HONOR!  Here is what I came up with…

Christmas-Count-Down-24-wide

I thought it turned out pretty cute… if I do say so myself!

The cool thing is, I designed it to print either BIG or small. You can print a large 24 inch print at either Office Max or Office Depot  OR you can print an 8.5 x 11 at home on your personal printer.

Download the LARGE Christmas Countdown

If you would like to print the LARGE version of the countdown, Visit the Jane Blog to download that version + you get to see all of the FUN stuff they have available today. I recommend signing up for their daily email so that you never miss out on any good deals!

We (Jane & I) would love to see how you use your Christmas Countdown. Instagram your countdown and tag both WhipperBerry & Jane so we can see your cute countdown in action!

Ponderize This – Wisdom

2 · Oct 12, 2015 · 1 Comment

Week one accomplished! Our family pondered this verse last week and it was so fun to see everyone’s different take on the verse from The New Testament.  Are you wondering what this is all about? Here’s the low down…

Our family has accepted the Ponderize challenge from our Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint’s Annual General Conference (October 2015) from Devin G. Durrant.  What does it mean to PONDERIZE?

To Ponderize is 80% extended pondering and 20% memorization of our scriptures.

It’s not just memorizing, it’s taking time to think about what the Lord would have us learn from the verse. It’s not hard, and even the kiddos can do it. Tonight for Family Home Evening  our family is going to work on two different verses. The first verse is from The Book of Mormon Alma 37:35:

Wisdom-in-thy-youth-from-whipperberry

This one is more for the littles in the family. It’s a little shorter and easy to memorize.

The next one, more for the seasoned members of the family is from 2 Nephi 28:30:

Line-Upon-Line-from-WhipperBerry

It doesn’t matter what religion you are,  let’s bring a little light into this world. Print the verse each week and take time to ponder about it’s meaning and then commit it to memory.

You can download the PONDERIZE printable HERE

This week, I decided to just do a 4×6 graphic for each verse that you can print and place in strategic places around your home. Hopefully we can grow closer to our Heavenly Father, closer to our families and to our communities by PONDERIZING these scriptures! Something else I’ve been thinking a lot about lately is biocentrism so I wrote a full post about it. Hint – I kinda debunked it.

FYI – I am completely aware of the ponderize craziness. I’m not going to take the time to go into here because we have decided as a family to not let the spirit of the message be tainted.

DIY Yard Yahtzee

5 · Aug 20, 2015 · 4 Comments

Are you looking for something fun for your summer holiday gatherings or even a lazy Sunday afternoon? Labor Day is coming up & kiddos love games. The bigger they get, the bigger they want their games! We were getting ready for a family event and I thought it would be super fun to create a DIY Yard Yahtzee game with large dice for the family to enjoy!

DIY-Yard-Yahtzee-from-WhipperBerry

This is a great way to gather everyone for a little fun this summer. The dice are super easy to make, I whipped up 2 sets in a couple of hours. They are simple 4x4x4 blocks of wood that are faux stained with BB Frösch Chalk Paint. When they aren’t being used to play games, they make great decor for your home.

Here’s your materials list…

12 4x4x4 blocks ( I bought a 4x4x10 board at Home Depot and cut it into 4x4x4 blocks.)

8 oz. BB Frösch Chalk Paint  – Brown

(You can select whatever color you like, I’ve used Mink from Benjamin Moore mixed with  BB Frösch Chalk Paint Powder. You can just grab a sample pot of paint at Home Depot in your favorite color and mix it with BB Frösch. You can even ask them for Mink, they have it in their system even though they don’t carry Ben Moore products.)

8 oz. BB Frösch Chalk Paint  – White

BB Frösch Premium Finishing Wax – Clear & Dark

Paint Brush

Wax Brush

Round sponge

Directions

Please make sure you sand your blocks once they are cut, you don’t want any rough edges. Dust them off and get your space ready for a quick paint session. CLICK HERE for a quick video tutorial on how to make these cute dice.

It’s really just that simple. A little paint & wax and you’re good to go. This is a great painting technique for furniture and all kinds of stuff… It’s not just for dice!

Now, all you need to do is gather the troops and PLAY!!

If you’re new to Yahtzee, here’s a link to the rules of the game that you can print if needed. You can download your printable Yahtzee score sheet here.

I’ve also created a fun printable that you can download.

All you need to do is print up a few of these score cards and you’re in business. If you have access to a laminator, you can laminate them and use dry erase markers and you don’t have to waste paper each time you play Yahtzee! This is what I always do with my Yardzee score sheets.

Yard Yahtzee is simple… You play just as you would with small dice, you just do it with large dice now. Each person has 6 dice and they take turns rolling their dice and keeping score to see who wins. SUPER FUN!!!
