Valentine Snow Globe | Anthro Inspired

214 · Jan 11, 2012 · 59 Comments

I have to admit… I have fallen for the Anthropologie snow globes from this last holiday season! While I was putting all of my holiday decorations away I just couldn't part with my snow globes. I decided that I would make  a Valentine's Day version.  Here you have it… my Valentine Snow Globe.

I took my Anthro inspired snow globe and removed the trees and safely stored it for next year.  Then I used my Epic tool and my new Sweetheart Nesting Scallop Heart die  from Lifestyle Crafts to make the pink heart. I made two and then placed them back to back with two, two inch pieces of a paper drinking straw in the middle to secure to the bottom of the lid with some large 3D glue dots. For the tutorial on how to do that click here.

Then I used a fun felt Christmas tree ornament for the large heart.  You could of course, make another paper heart for the large one.  I just happened to have the perfect felt heart already on hand. I did the same with the two felt hearts.  I placed them back to back and placed two, three inch paper straws in between to help secure the heart to the lid.  They were a little wonky so I used a small section of the paper straw and some glue dots in between the hearts to secure them a little better…

Don't worry, people won't notice the straws at all. It will just look like you have beautiful hearts floating in your snow globe! What else do you think we can do with the ever popular snow globe?

Anthropologie Inspired Snow Globes | Tutorial

A couple of weeks ago my Sweetheart was out of town and so I took my kiddos out for a fun dinner at one of our favorite places, The Elephant Bar at The District in Green Valley Ranch. The kiddos LOVE that place! I love it for two reasons… the sweet potato fries with the spicy ketchup and that Anthropologie is right across from the restaurant.  After dinner we headed over and I found the cutest snow globes in a jar! I just had to make some of my own…

They couldn't be easier to make!  Here is what you will need…

Snowflake Art | Tutorial

3 · Dec 14, 2011 · 2 Comments

Earlier this month I created a guest post for the lovely ladies from The Letter 4 while they were having a ball meeting Martha on the Martha Stewart show.  Just in case you missed it here is the Snowflake Art that I shared over there.

I am one of those displaced snow bunnies!  I grew up in Colorado skiing and loving everything that winter brought with it. For the past eight years I've been living in Las Vegas  and I can count the amount of times I've seen snow on one hand. So… When the girls invited me over I knew I wanted to create a project to add a little snow to my life!

I took my inspiration from a fabulous project that I found on Pinterest  from the Ballard Bunch. It was a simple snowflake made from craft sticks and it was stunning!!  I decided to take the humble craft stick and create a fun wall or door display using some chargers from the dollar store, some ribbon, paint and sprinkle of SNOW!

Holiday Felted Wool Garland | Tutorial

44 · Nov 27, 2011 · 30 Comments

I hope everyone had a fabulous Holiday!  Mine was filled with food and family and it was lovely. I missed Friday Flair and all your amazing talents and can't wait to see what you've whipped up later this week!

Today, I have an oldie, but a goodie.  We posted this tutorial for how to make a felted wool garland back in September at According to Kelly and I thought I would post it again today just in case you missed it. This is one of my all time favorites!!

There's a lot of buntings and garlands going on in the party world right now, and I thought I would share with all of you how to make a garland out of wool! It's a little more unconventional than your traditional paper garland, and it will definitely last a whole lot longer than paper will (I don't know about your kids, but a paper garland wouldn't last long in my house). Best of all, it's easy and fast!
