Make Thanksgiving Easy with McCormick Turkey Gravy // plus Friday Flair

6 · Nov 15, 2012 · 124 Comments

The big day is almost here my friends! Have you made your shopping lists? Have you bought your turkey and all the fixin’s? I remember back when I was first married, the idea of hosting a Thanksgiving sent shivers down my back.  I guess that would be a testament to the wonderful Thanksgiving feasts that my Mom hosted when I was growing up. The crown jewel of the meal was always the gravy and I was terrified to follow in my Mother’s footsteps.  That is until I found McCormick Turkey Gravy.

As a child of the Martha Stewart era, the idea of using a packet just wasn’t acceptable in my eyes. That was until I tried McCormick’s Turkey Gravy. My thought at that point… why on earth have I been making this so hard on myself.

McCormick’s gravy turns out PERFECT every time. No worrying about lumps or the gravy being under seasoned or worst yet, over seasoned.  You can even give it your little signature by adding “secret” ingredients like a pinch of rubbed sage, poultry seasoning, or a hit of dried thyme. I even like to add a splash of white wine or sherry to mine to give it the WhipperBerry touch. You can get even more ideas by joining the conversation over at McCormick’s Facebook page.

The McCormick company has taken the perfect blend of seasonings and all natural ingredients to create this fabulous addition to your Thanksgiving table. The generous folks at McCormick would like to help to dress-up your Holidays by offering a fun Giveaway for this week’s Friday Flair link party!

Chest R Desk a Great Holiday Gift

1 · Nov 8, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Alright, the big game is almost here…  We’re in the final stretch, and gearing up for a big finish! Christmas my friends!! It’s like our shopping Super Bowl. Who’s going to come up with the best gifts this year? The most thoughtful, the most creative… the one that the kiddos will still be interested in by Presidents Day. Kami from No Biggie has turned me onto the coolest gift for the kiddos ages 3-12.  It’s the Chest R Desk!!

chest R desk

Here is a photo of Kami’s little guy taking the Chest R Desk for a test drive. This is the coolest little piece of children's furniture I’ve seen in a while. It is a storage unit, chair and a desk all in one.  Plus you can decorate it to match your kiddos room.  Here is a little video showing how it works…

How fun is that?  Kami said that the Chest R Desk is made really well with hinges that close slowly, so you won’t have to worry about your kiddos banging down the top of the chest.  It also has little cut out sections so you don’t have to worry about smashed fingers, so smart!

The Chest-R-Desk runs about $59.95 and will ship out towards the end of November, so get your orders in now!  I think I need to order at least two.  It’s a perfect little homework spot for Miss Em and my little guy Gage would LOVE to have a little spot all his own.  He could store his coloring books and puzzles, it’s just perfect for him! I can’t wait for Christmas!!

What do you think? Do you have a little one who would LOVE to have their very own little spot? Is this something you would add to your Holiday list? You can find out more information about Chest-R-Desk on their website or visit their Facebook page for all the up to date news about this fun product!

Moving Day Fun with Odwalla Smoothies for Kids

0 · Sep 28, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Hey guys! Checking in quickly as we get ready to head off to Nebraska soon. I wanted to tell you all about a fun new site that I have been involved with for a little bit, the Odwalla Smoothies for Kids Goodness Grove! The little guy made a quick little video to tell you all about it…

I’m so excited about being an Odwalla Ambassador for this fabulous site! We’ve talked about all kinds of fun topics over there for the last month. If you haven’t checked out the Goodness Grove you need to come on over and share in the fun… Hey, you could win a $1000 shopping spree just for joining in on the conversation.

Here’s a little bit of info about the Odwalla Smoothies for kids…

  • The come in three great flavors…

  • You can find them in your grocers refrigerated section with all of Odwalla products.
  • They have one full serving of fruit in each little lunch box friendly box.
  • They are gluten-free, dairy free with no added sugar.
  • They are between 110-120 calories per serving so keep in mind, they aren’t a low calorie food.
  • They contain 50% of your daily Vitamin C requirements in each box.

My kiddos love them and I love that I know exactly what they are putting into their bodies. They pack in lunch boxes easily and travel well with an ice pack. We’ve been using them a lot during the moving process, just to ensure the kiddos are getting their fruits and vitamin C while things are a little crazy around here.

Give them a try and come on over to the Goodness Grove and say hello. You never know… You may win $1000 if you do!!

Also, come share some challenges you have overcome in teaching your kids healthy habits for a chance to win at $200 gift card. Official Sweepstakes Rules.

Odwalla has asked me to be a Good Mom ambassador through BlogFrog. I am being compensated for my participation in the program but all opinions expressed in the post are my own and not those of Odwalla or The Coca-Cola Company.
