Hey guys… I'm BACK!!  I've missed you all terribly and can't wait to catch-up with everyone. Nothing like a little medical hiccup to force you to slow down and smell the lovely spring daisies. Friday Flair will return next week but while I've been resting up I had the fun opportunity to work with COOL WHIP Whipped Topping. I thought I would do a little walking down memory lane and share my favorite COOL WHIP recipes.  Come on over and check out some of my favorites!

DIY Baby Onesies with Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition & CAMEO | Bonus Discount Code

0 · Mar 22, 2012 · 8 Comments

On Monday our family was thrilled to welcome a new little nephew into the world and I jumped at the chance to make some cute DIY onsies for the new little guy with my Silhouette CAMEO, the Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition & the Heat Transfer Material also from Silhouette.

Aren't they cute? A Cuddle Bug and a Stink Bug… I LOVE it!! Back when I first bought my Silhouette SD a couple of years ago, I came up with this fun idea for a infant or toddler shirt, but my hands were tied.  Silhouette has thousands of images in the Silhouette Studio® however, they didn't have the VW Bug that I needed to make this shirt work.

Since then Silhouette has introduced the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition that allows you to use Scalable Vector Graphics or .svg files that you can find on the web for your designs. When I found that out I did the HAPPY DANCE!! Here are some of the other features that the Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition has to offer…

  • Ability to open, manipulate, and cut .svg files
  • Rhinestone tools to convert designs into rhinestone templates and create your own rhinestone designs
  • Sketch tools to convert designs into several styles of sketchable art
  • Creative knife tools to allow you to clip designs using different patterns
  • Enhanced eraser set to modify designs with more precision
  • Built-in ruler and guide lines for precise alignment and drawing

Isn't that sooooo fun!!  All the things we can do now with our CAMEO and Silhouette SD. It's super easy to use as well. On Saturday I will have a tutorial on how to open and use a .svg file in Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition to create this fun infant onesie.

TODAY, I have an aaaamazing bundle deal to share with you from Silhouette.

Click here to visit the Silhouette Shop and cash in on this smokin' hot deal!! Don't forget to check back on Saturday for the full tutorial on how to make these super CUTE shirts for your little ones.

Come Learn to Knit with WhipperBerry & Craftsy

0 · Mar 20, 2012 · 1 Comment

When I was a little girl, my Mom patiently tried to teach me how to crochet & knit.  The crocheting came rather easily to me as long as I could crochet one looooong chain and didn’t have to figure out how to turn and then build something out of the massive chain.  Unfortunately, I didn’t really have a need for a yarn chain that was two miles long… so I quit! The knitting on the other had was a little more challenging, you know… having to use two needles for a young girl who had no hand-eye coordination to speak of was almost impossible.

Fast forward several years… My sweet Mother-in-Law came to visit and taught me how to crochet FOR REAL and I discovered a love of the yarn arts.  Knitting on the other hand, as much as I would love to knit… I have to admit that art has been a bit of a challenge for me.  It’s a hand-eye coordination thing again, I can’t play video games either.

That is until I discovered Craftsy…

Have you discovered this site yet? It’s amazing! The team at Craftsy has worked really hard to create a site that is not only beautiful, but super user-friendly. I wrote a full craftsy review here.

It delivers top-notch online video classes that are unmatched on any other site that I have seen. They have searched high and low to find instructors that are masters at their crafts and then given them the tools to create the best online learning environment out there.  Here’s an example…

If you are taking a class on how to quilt and half way through the video a question pops into your head. You can pause the video at that point and type your question right there in the user interface and the INSTRUCTOR will answer your question as soon as they see it!!  How cool is that?

So here’s my thought… I want to learn how to knit.  I want to be cool like Julia Roberts and all those other cool knitting people or if you just want to gift someone a handmade gift. I am going to sign-up for…the Knit Lab at Craftsy and I would LOVE it if you guys {all of you who don’t know how to knit, or would like to brush-up on your skills} to join me!!  Won’t that be fun?

The sweet folks at Craftsy have given all of you guys a 25% discount on the price of the class.  It’s only $29.99 for all my sweet WhipperBerry friends!  Head over to Craftsy and check out The Knitting Lab and see all that it has to offer.  You can even watch sample videos to see if this is something that you would like to do.

So, come learn to knit with me! If you decide to accept this challenge, leave a comment in the comments section and then let’s get started!  I will check in with a post next week to show how far I have gotten and then maybe we can set-up a link party for everyone to show off what they’ve made in a few weeks.

So who’s in? I can’t wait to give this a go!!

Do you Feel Lucky?

0 · Mar 16, 2012 · 1 Comment

Do you believe in luck? Is there really some cosmic lottery that falls on each of us randomly, bestowing us with gifts large and small? If there is, I seem to have missed my turn in line a few times.  The last time I remember “winning” something was when I was 12 years old and I spent hours listening to the radio waiting to call in and win tickets to see the “new” Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade movie.  River Phoenix was in it and I was a BIG fan!! I sat tethered to my phone which was {believe it or not} also tethered to the wall.  I know… soooooo long ago! What on earth did we do before the cellular age?
