Better Life Bags Giveaway // So, funny story… a few weeks ago on Instagram, I discovered a bag and I fell in LOVE! Then I went to Kansas and met Ashley from Little Miss Momma and she had one of the amazing bags and I fell even deeper in love…

The bag was just so lovely, we all were joking about how we were going to sneak it home. Then when I arrived home, it was one of the first things I checked out… It was the Brynnda from Better Life Bags and then I fell into an even deeper LOVE! When I found out what Better Life Bags was all about, I knew I needed one and I needed to share them with all of you. They have such an amazing product and a wonderful mission.

Rebecca the owner of Better Life Bags started her company totally on a fluke. After searching for a diaper bag that was her style, she decided that the only way to accomplish that would be to make her own. She did just that, and posted a picture on Facebook. All of her friends went crazy over the bag and people started ordering them left and right. A handmade business was born!

Rebecca knew that if she was going to create a business like this, she wanted to give back in some way. Her family had moved to a economical challenged area in Detroit and she decided that she wanted to help women who were having issues making a living, women who really didn't have any marketable skills and who couldn't really provide for their families. She trained them, rented out equipment and paid each of them a fair wage and now they all have better lives. That is how Better Life Bags was created. I admire women who create not only a handmade business, but a handmade business with a cause. I LOVE how she has taken an idea and turned it into a mission. Here's a little video about her mission…

I’ve been busy this week working on a project that has been on my “to do” list for some time. A chalkboard wall for my kitchen! I’ve been collecting chalkboards from Decor Steals and have finally found the time to start working on the project. I’ve been working on priming the chalkboards but I think they may look better if they’re not primed. Here are some Instagram photos of the process…

Don’t you just love the little footprints on the chalkboard on the right? The little guy was having fun playing hop scotch while I was working on the layout of the boards on the floor. Gotta love 3 year olds! I decided I didn’t love the color of the large “T”, so I busted out the spray paint and transformed it to Blue Ocean Breeze from Krylon.

I like it so much better now. I am actually on a mission to add more color into our home this year. I’ve had such a hard time adding color, and staying safe with a neutral color palette, but I think it’s time. Now, I just have to figure out what colors! Be prepared… operation add color is on it’s way. I see lots of painting projects in my future!
