Lest you thought I forgot… I have not!  I’m just running on island time these days.  Mike and I are having a ball here on Kauai just enjoying the island flow of things.  We’ve been eating our weight in Ahi Poke and enjoying the sights and smells the island has to share.  I’ve been documenting everything on Instagram if you are interested in following along. But… this post is not about me, it’s about YOU and your amazing talents.  Here’s a little taste of what caught my eye last week during Friday Flair…

Deco Art Glass Paint

DecoArt sent me a bunch of their glass paint to take for a spin. I was madly getting ready for my last minute trip to Hawaii, so I didn’t have a ton of time to create a painted masterpiece.  I did however have just enough time to dress up a jar and then I had a thought… This would be so fun for a birthday party or shower, basically any type of event where you would like to add a little playful fun element to the party. The nice part it hardly takes any time at all to create these fun polka dot jars.

Supply List

Instructions

  1. Make sure your jars are clean inside and out. Wipe down the outside of the jar with alcohol to prepare it for the paint.
  2. Select your 3D Frosted Gloss Enamel color and using the handy tip just start placing dots at the tip of every diamond on the quilted glass jar.
  3. Let dry completely, this takes a few hours or best over night.
  4. Fill with your party beverage, screw on the lid and top it off with the fancy straw. 
  5. Line up your jars on a table or tray and your guests will be amazed!!

How easy is that!! Seriously, you could get a whole parties worth of jars painted in no time at all.  Give it a go and let me know what you think!

Wowza… it’s late! The good news, It’s even closer to FRIDAY! I’ve been madly working on getting the kiddos ready for the first day of school, planning for the blog while I’m away and getting ready for Hawaii.  CRAZY!! My Honey left for the islands last Sunday so I’ve also been doing all that while flying solo. No worries, I’m almost finished and then it’s nine days of rest and relaxation on Kauai.  If any of you have been there and have great suggestions for some hidden gems on Kauai I would LOVE to hear them. We are leaving our kiddos with some of our favorite friends on the planet so my family planner is going to come in handy.  So glad I already have that ready to go!

Don’t they just look delightful? I’m going to have to add this to my must try list. I can’t say I’ve ever thought of putting blueberries with chocolate, but I don’t see why not. Have any of you guys tried something like this? I would love to hear your thoughts.
