{Lifestyle Crafts} Halloween Goodies and Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie in a Jar

0 · Sep 6, 2011 · 10 Comments

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Labor Day yesterday. We had a ball swimming and playing games with some great friends!

With Labor Day now come and gone it's time to start getting ready for one of my favorite times of the year… AUTUMN!  Lifestyle Crafts is launching their new line of Holiday die cuts and I'm so excited to give you a sneak peak…

I made this fun Halloween treat container using the cute skull and cross bones {made from the turkey leg die cut} along with the Spooked Printing Plates using the Epic Letterpress.  Isn't it fun?

{Guest Blogger} Jamie from The Letter 4

0 · Sep 1, 2011 · 7 Comments

Hello fellow Whipperberry lovers! I'm Jamie from The Letter 4 and I'm ecstatic that I have the honor of guest posting today! Whipperberry was one of the very first link party's we joined when we first started blogging. I was stunned when I got an e-mail asking if we would be interested in guest posting, so a HUGE thank you to Heather and the whole Whipperberry gang!  You ladies are amazing! (and gorgeous!)

We are 4 sisters with a love for…well anything and everything that inspires us. All of us have different tastes and talents.  Some things we have in common are:  a lack of an "inside voice",  an ability to be easily entertained (we laugh at EVERYTHING),  and an insane talent of being able to hold an entire conversation using only movie quotes.

I am the printable mastermind over at our blog. I wasn't even thinking about fall, and I was enjoying my summer until my little sister Janae had to go buy a ton of cute back to school fall fashion clothes. Well, now I can't wait to feel that slight chill in the breeze, see the beautiful colors, and play in the leaves with my daughter. So, I have made this printable for you! It may be a bit early but have you seen all the cute jackets being pinned on pinterest?  Ya, I know you all are thinking about it.  🙂

Back to School Love

1 · Aug 17, 2011 · 4 Comments

I feel like the blog world is playing a funny joke on me right now… My kiddos don't go back to school until the end of the month, but it seems like everyone is already back to the old grind stone.  Congrats or condolences, what ever way to tend to look at this magical time of year.  I'm currently working on a fun back~to~school project today, but I thought I would show off some of the fun teacher gifts that I've found around blogland…

Ribbon Christmas Trees {Tutorial}

288 · Dec 21, 2010 · 81 Comments

I wanted to do something different with my Christmas décor this year to break away from the traditional red and green. I decided to go with black and white.

But in an effort not to break the bank, I tried to make a lot of the new decorations. One thing that caught my eye this season was the ribbon Christmas trees we’ve seen so often. But I wanted to do them a little bit differently.

Ribbon Trees

Instead of folding the ribbon in half (picture on left), I looped it around (picture on right).

First I spray painted my Paper Mache cones black. Then I cut black and white stitched grosgrain ribbon into pieces ranging from 2.5 –4 inches. I started with the longer pieces at the bottom. After looping the ribbon, I secured each piece with hot glue, and finished row by row, shortening the ribbon lengths as I got higher.

On one tree I alternated colors every row, and on the other I alternated each piece.

I finished the top with a bit more ribbon wrapped around the tip.

Now I have two beautiful trees that go perfectly with my new décor!
