Cranberry Apple Drunkin’ Dressing… a Dressing with a Little Kick

2 · Oct 12, 2011 · 12 Comments

Let’s Talk Turkey

When it comes to Thanksgiving one of my all time favorite side dishes for the big day is my Cranberry Apple Drunkin’ Dressing.  It is in my opinion the perfect dressing for Turkey!!

The inspiration for this recipe comes from one of my favorite restaurants here in Las Vegas, Table 34. Chef Wes created the most amazing dressing and serves it with his lovely roasted chicken.  The minute I tried it I fell in love… it was heaven on a plate.  One night while I was there, I had to take the opportunity to ask him what makes his dressing so special.  The secret… you get your cranberries DRUNK before you put them in the dressing!!!  Seriously, you soak the dried cranberries in brandy for an hour our so before you add them to your dressing.  So, last year for Thanksgiving I thought I would come up with my version of Table 34’s dressing and here is what I came up with…

{The Corn Cob} A Cute Treat for your Halloween Parties

1 · Oct 3, 2011 · 43 Comments

From a very early age in my life I knew the principle of… "Presentation is Everything" was a very true principle. How fun is this?  You can take a boring bowl of candy corns and turn them into a fun Corn Cob and now your Halloween table has a festive new addition!

Far be it from me to put a rush on things… but whether we like it on not, the HOLIDAYS are around the corner!! My motto this year {yes, I am borrowing it from the Boy Scouts} BE PREPARED. The only way that we are going to be able to create a fun handmade holiday season is to start now and this is the perfect project to get a head start on… Holiday Gift Tags.

How many times have the gift tags become a forgotten item in the holiday decor?  Even worse, you are stuck with a store bought tag when you know that you could make some sooooo much better.

Sometime this fall, the evening will be cool with just the hint of a chill in the air. You’ll be tapping your fingers on your lips, wondering what in the world you should make for dinner.
